Volunteer on a Committee

Join us in strengthening our profession by volunteering for committees that directly contribute to the vital work of our organization. Your dedication and support make a significant impact, and we welcome your involvement in shaping a positive future for law enforcement.

  1. Legislative Committee
    The Legislative Committee supports FOP’s legislative goals, collaborating with local lodge presidents to engage legislators on issues important to law enforcement. This committee plays a vital role in advancing pro-law enforcement initiatives across the state.
  2. Membership Committee
    Charged with driving statewide growth, the Membership Committee develops marketing materials and strategies aimed at boosting membership. Their work helps expand FOP’s reach and impact throughout South Carolina.
  3. Fundraising Committee
    The Fundraising Committee explores new avenues for financial support, such as raffles or merchandise sales, presenting recommendations to the State Board. This team is crucial to securing funds for the organization’s initiatives.
  4. Awards Committee
    This committee handles nominations and ensures that recipients are selected based on established criteria. The team is responsible for coordinating with the board to present awards.
  5. Budget/Finance Committee
    The Budget/Finance Committee aids the treasurer in managing investments and addressing budget concerns. By offering financial recommendations to the Board, this committee ensures organizational stability and growth.
  6. Constitutions and ByLaws Committee
    This committee reviews local lodge bylaws to ensure they align with FOP standards. Additionally, they ensure the state lodge’s bylaws remain up-to-date with National FOP guidelines.
  7. Legal Defense Committee
    This committee promotes the FOP Legal Defense Plan and assists lodges with claim submissions and attorney recruitment. Their efforts help strengthen legal protections for members.
  8. Memorial Committee
    Dedicated to honoring fallen officers, the Memorial Committee organizes the annual memorial service and maintains a database of fallen officers. The team ensures proper recognition for those who served.
  9. Special Olympics Committee
    The Special Olympics Committee coordinates fundraising efforts with local lodges to support this community partner. Their work helps sustain meaningful partnerships and raises essential funds.
  10. Training Committee
    The Training Committee develops and hosts training sessions for lodge leaders and law enforcement officers. These efforts ensure ongoing professional development and leadership training for members.
