The Fraternal Order of Police is the world’s largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers, with over 356,000 members in more than 2,100 lodges. We are committed to improving the working conditions of officers and the safety of those we serve through education, legislation, information, community involvement and employee representation. Here’s an overview of the wide variety of services and benefits that the FOP offers to its members.
At the State level
Membership in the FOP enables members to join the FOP Legal Defense Plan
The State Legislative Committee actively addresses the legislative concerns of South Carolina Law Enforcement Officers, ensuring members are well-informed. Collaborating closely with our lobbying firm, Stewart Konduros and Associates, led by former SLED Chief Robert Stewart and Cynthia Rawl Konduros, the committee advocates tirelessly for the rights of law enforcement officers in South Carolina.
Each member enjoys coverage under our Accidental Death and Line of Duty Death policies, providing up to $35,000 in payouts. The Accidental Death benefit ensures a $2,500 payout for 24-hour coverage, while the Line of Duty Death benefit supplements this amount when a member is killed while performing law enforcement duties. Our insurance policies aim to provide significant financial support during challenging circumstances for our dedicated law enforcement professionals.
We support charities in our communities such as Easter Seals, Special Olympics Torch Run, FOP Cops and Kids program in addition to many special community projects funded and provided by local lodges. Our members work together to help each other in times of need. We are “cops working for cops”
