A Saturday of hayrides, outdoor games, music, animals, crafts, and plenty of activities for the kids is coming up for South Carolina law enforcement families.
The Haven will host its third Family Fun Day on Saturday, September 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is free and open exclusively to active and retired law enforcement officers and their immediate families.
Family Fun Day is designed to give officers and their families a chance to get away from the routines and demands of the job and simply enjoy a day together. For four hours, the focus will be on family, fun, and spending time with others who share a connection to the law enforcement community.
A Full Day of Family Activities
The Haven has planned activities for children and adults throughout the event, giving families plenty of ways to spend the day.
Family Fun Day will include:

Whether the kids want to visit the animals, head for the inflatables, make something at the craft area, or get their faces painted, there will be activities throughout the day. Families can also enjoy hayrides, music and outdoor games, with prizes adding a little friendly competition to the afternoon.
There is no admission charge for eligible officers, retirees, or their immediate families.
A Day Away From the Job
Law enforcement is a profession that can place demands on the entire family. Schedules change, holidays and weekends can be interrupted, and officers do not always have the same opportunities to spend uninterrupted time with their families as those working more predictable schedules.
Family Fun Day is intended to create one of those opportunities.
Rather than a conference, training session, or formal law enforcement gathering, the September 26 event is simply a chance for active and retired officers to bring their families together and enjoy what The Haven has planned.
It also gives law enforcement families an opportunity to spend time around other families who understand the profession and the lifestyle that comes with it.
The Haven was created specifically for law enforcement officers and their immediate families, with a focus on providing a private place for rest, peace, and supportive community. Family Fun Day carries that focus into an event centered on families enjoying the property and each other.
Registration Is Required
Because The Haven is a private law enforcement retreat, Family Fun Day is limited to active and retired law enforcement officers and their immediate families.
Registration and credential verification are required before attending.
Active officers are asked to register using their agency email address to assist with the verification process. Active and retired officers will also need to provide a photo of their active or retired law enforcement credentials. All guests age 18 and older are required to electronically sign the agreements provided during registration.
The Haven’s physical address is not released publicly. Once an officer or retiree has completed registration and their credentials have been verified, the event location will be provided directly to them.
Attendees are asked not to share or publicly disclose the location. The policy helps preserve the privacy and security of the officers and families who visit the retreat.

Family Fun Day runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, September 26, giving law enforcement families four hours to enjoy the activities The Haven has put together for its third annual event.
