Today, we remember City of Aiken, South Carolina Government Department of Public Safety Police Officer Harold Michael Harvey.
On this date in 1978, Officer Harvey was killed after being electrocuted while assisting at the scene of a fire. As he lifted a ladder to the roof of a burning house, it came into contact with a gutter that had a live electrical line attached. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
