“Inside The Mind: Mass Shooters” is a critical 60-minute webinar for public safety professionals that explores the troubling rise of mass shootings, offering insights into the definition, trends, and characteristics of these tragic events. Recent data shows that the number of mass shootings in the U.S. has surged in the last decade and in 2023 alone, there were already over 600 mass shootings by mid-year (Gun Violence Archive, 2023). This webinar will equip participants with the tools to understand these patterns and enhance preparedness. Key learning objectives include: (1) understanding the definitions and scope of mass shootings, (2) identifying behavioral and situational trends among perpetrators, and (3) recognizing common locations and conditions that may precede these incidents. This session is essential for those working on the frontlines of public safety and violence prevention efforts.
