Coming This July
Essential Training for South Carolina’s Law Enforcement Officers
This July, the South Carolina Fraternal Order of Police is proud to host two Critical Incident Seminars designed specifically for active duty officers. These one-day sessions offer critical guidance on how to protect yourself in the aftermath of an incident — whether it involves a vehicle collision, an officer-involved shooting, or any high-liability encounter.
Led by Michael E. Coviello, Esq., Associate General Counsel for the National FOP’s Labor Services Division, this training will equip law enforcement professionals with the tools needed to navigate the aftermath of high-liability incidents.
Participants will gain:
- A clear understanding of how to navigate the immediate aftermath of a critical incident
- Practical guidance on communication and conduct when directly involved or serving as a witness
- Insight into the roles and responsibilities of officers based on their position in the event
This seminar supports departmental integrity, helps mitigate agency liability, and ensures officers are equipped to respond with clarity, confidence, and professionalism when it matters most.
