Governor’s Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Nominations for 2025

January 6, 2026

We are pleased to announce the continuation of the Governor’s Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Awards Program in 2026. President John Blackmon sits on the Advisory Committee that will review the finalists and determine the winners in the following three categories: State Law Enforcement Officer of the Year, County Law Enforcement Officer of the Year, and Municipal Law Enforcement Officer of the Year.

Please review the linked nomination announcement letter, nomination form, and nomination guidelines regarding the Governor’s Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Awards.

Nominations are to be submitted to President Blackmon by email no later than 5:00 pm on February 15, 2026.

Lastly, please note that these awards are for service and/or actions conducted during 2025, and only Class 1 officers qualify for nomination.
