Today, we remember Moncks Corner Police Department Police Corporal Marcus Davis Stiles.
On this date in 2007, Corporal Marcus Stiles died of wounds sustained when he, with Officer Lonnie Wells, responded to a domestic disturbance call on March 25.
Upon arriving at the call, a male subject opened fire, killing Officer Wells and critically wounding Corporal Stiles.
The suspect fled the scene in one of the patrol cars but was shot and killed a short time later by a deputy from the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office.
