On this date in 1931, Policeman Hyatt succumbed to his wounds received in a shootout on March 7, 1931.
Funeral services for Policeman David H. Hyatt were conducted at 3:30 in the afternoon on Tuesday, March 24th, at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, and he was buried in the church cemetery. He was survived by his widow, two small daughters, and his half-sister and half-brother.
