Stand with Us at the Social Security Fairness Rally!

December 7, 2024

On Wednesday, December 11, at 11:30 a.m. EST, law enforcement officers from across the nation will gather at the Upper Senate Park at the U.S. Capitol to advocate for fairness and equality in our Social Security system. This rally is a crucial step in our mission to repeal the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and Government Pension Offset (GPO)—provisions that unfairly penalize many public servants, including law enforcement officers.

Why This Rally Matters

The Social Security Fairness Act represents a significant effort to right the wrongs caused by WEP and GPO, which reduce or eliminate Social Security benefits for those who have dedicated their careers to serving the public. This rally is a unique opportunity for law enforcement officers to stand united and ensure Congress hears our call for change.

Event Details

  • Date: Wednesday, December 11, 2024
  • Time: 11:30 a.m. EST
  • Location: Upper Senate Park, U.S. Capitol, Washington, D.C.

Travel and Accommodations

Due to high demand for hotel rooms in the D.C. area, availability is limited. To assist attendees, the FOP has secured a limited number of rooms at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center for a discounted rate of $229 per night.

To reserve a room:

  • Contact Kevin Elder via email at Kelder@planitmeetings.com or text him at 202-257-8330.
  • Act fast! Rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Our legislative staff is also working to identify additional lodging options outside of Washington, D.C., and updates will be provided as soon as possible.

Important Reminder

Firearms are strictly prohibited on Capitol Grounds. All participants must comply with this rule while attending the rally.

Share the Word

Help us spread the message by sharing the official rally flyer with your colleagues, lodges, and departments. Encourage your fellow officers to attend this historic event and show their support.

Together, We Can Make a Difference

This rally is more than just an event; it is a chance to show Congress the strength of our unity and the importance of the issues we face. Your presence will send a powerful message that cannot be ignored.

Let’s stand together to demand fairness for those who protect and serve. We look forward to seeing you in Washington, D.C., on December 11!
