This October, the South Carolina Department of Public Safety (SCDPS) inducted seven exceptional officers into the South Carolina Law Enforcement Officers Hall of Fame. These officers represent the very best of our profession, with lives marked by duty, courage, and an unwavering commitment to public service. Their induction not only celebrates individual dedication but serves as a powerful reminder of the profound impact law enforcement officers have on our communities.
This year’s honorees included leaders from various agencies across the state, each bringing a legacy of distinguished service and professionalism. Among those honored was Chief William C. “Bill” Mobley of the York Police Department, nominated by the South Carolina Fraternal Order of Police (SCFOP). SCFOP President John Blackmon addressed the audience, highlighting Chief Mobley’s numerous accomplishments and presenting him with the award. His induction, along with his fellow honorees, strengthens the values of commitment and excellence that are central to our profession.
