Cops on the Coop: Supporting Special Olympics South Carolina

November 20, 2024

On Friday, November 22, 2024, law enforcement agencies across Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester Counties will come together for the annual “Cops on the Coop” event. This special fundraiser, hosted at participating Chick-fil-A locations, supports the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics South Carolina, a cause near and dear to the Fraternal Order of Police.

From 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, officers will engage with the community, raise funds, and share the incredible mission of the Special Olympics. Every dollar raised helps provide life-changing opportunities for the more than 30,000 Special Olympics athletes across South Carolina.

Leadership in Action: Sergeant at Arms Mike Peek

The South Carolina Fraternal Order of Police takes great pride in our commitment to the Special Olympics, spearheaded by leaders like State FOP Sergeant at Arms Mike Peek. As the chair of the South Carolina FOP Special Olympics Committee, Mike plays a crucial role in coordinating these efforts statewide.

Beyond his work in South Carolina, Mike also serves on National Committees for the Law Enforcement Torch Run, further demonstrating the FOP’s unwavering dedication to this important cause. His leadership ensures that events like “Cops on the Coop” make a tangible difference in the lives of athletes and their families.
